Strengthfinders focuses on individuals talents and helps them to see how to communicate with and relate to each other more effectively. By focusing on each others strengths it builds belonging and connection between team members and therefore unify the team.
Whilst at Partnership Assurance the department was restructured and was formed from many pre-existing teams (developers, testers, analysts, project manager, etc) which were broken up and reformed into Agile teams. The new department was introduced to Strengthfinders 2.0 and invited to take the test and share their individual top five strengths out of the potential list of thirty four.
With each strength it highlights what is the motivator, how to use your ability and ways to work with it. Working to your strengths engages you with work and you get greater productivity.
For the department knowing each other’s strengths allowed the team to understand each other better and how to work alongside each other. You could look up what they were good at and also reach understanding where there wasn't before.
